JG's new sponsor?

No. Not the Houston Astros, but rather Major League Baseball? Gore was shown a lot on the Golf Channel's coverage of the Shell Houston Open. He was sporting a Houston Astros cap during his round.

As born and breed Red Sox fan, that is very cool indeed.

So MG, where is Rocket going to play this year?

Well, you are no Tom Verduci...

On a completely unrelated topic, Team Gore (not "Gore's Whores"... yikes) is coming up a few tix short for the Nelson... Any chance you guys will have any to distribute to the local fan club? I haven't paid to go to a sporting event in years, and I'd hate to start now! haha.

Hey MG, does JG have a new sponsor. I sent an email to Fenway Sports Group. They are the marketing arm of the Boston Red Sox and told them that they should be the corp. sponsor for JG. Imagine JG in Red Sox caps, a "green monster" green golf bag, and JG throwing out the first pitch at Fenway Park during the Bank of Boston tournament.

I like the way New Tex thinks!!
Hey MG, does that ticket offer extend to the tourney here in Boston? As a local, I would love to go there and cheer on JG this summer!!!

And NO, Rocket is not going to the Yanks!!! He will play in Houston or Boston!! GOOOO SOX!!!!!!

Oh Gawd, the annual BoSox/Yankme death match is upon us. What a pity that the best A.L. teams are all WEST of I-95 (85/75). :-)

Rumor on the street had it that Robbo/Buzz was going to throw down a rodent-like challenge involving the Yankees, but haven't seen anything yet. Perhaps it's because he fears that Oil Can will rejoin the Sox if the Rocket does.

MG... you rock!

I would never scalp the tix... just trying to fill the gallery with JG supporters... I have most bases covered, but may need a pair on Thursday and a few on Saturday. My wife is trying to pull some strings so we get some corporate tent tix, and if that comes in, I may be all set.

The Nelson is going to be a big draw this year... the expectation is that the field will be full of the top players, as a tribute to Byron. It will make a nice victory for 'ol JG!

BTW, not sure if you noticed, but there were some nice words said of him in this week's Sports Illustrated... there is a long cover article on Tiger, and JG is mentioned at the end.

I'll take all the action Robbo can offer on heads up Yanks/Sox games.

MG, I'm one of the guys flying into Dallas to see the Nelson tourney. Looking forward to seeing the big guy play in person.

I too will take any Sox/Yankme wagers. I'd be willing to take Toronto over the Yankees if given 2:1 odds.

Count me in for any Sox/Yanks action!! It always makes the series more interesting. "YANKEES SUCK"... Jeter & A-Rod are moving to Mass to make their civil union legal!!! hehehehehehe

Bandit...unfortunately for good ol' Oil Can, the last I heard he was facing 25 years in jail down in Mississippi for threatening to kill his girlfriend. So, he going from pitching for the Brockton Rox (independent Can/Am league) to playing for the Chain Gang in the Penal League!!

MG....that would be great!! I'll be sure to get in touch with you when the tourney gets closer here. Much appreciated!!

Looks like Robbo can get all the Yankee/Red Sox action he can handle if he ever crawls out of his hole!

You definitely get my vote for "coolest wife of a Tour pro who also happens to comment on this blog." You rock.

I thought it was funny that the article came out this week, but it was public knowledge a week ago that JG is not with Nike anymore.

JS said...

MG and NT, I found it funny that the Golf Channel was showing their little player promo of JG wearing all red nike garb (hat & shirt). I realize they tape that stuff early in the season, but they could have tried to get the 7 seconds of facial expression post nike.

And yes, New Tex in a long trench coat in the greater Dallas area asking, "Who needs 2?" would be a site to see.

A typical response from a typical Yankee fan... yeah, there is no rivalry NOW... now that 2004 is come and gone... but I can promise you, there was one up until then... I was at Game 6 in the Bronx, and the abject fear on the Yankee fans faces was quite entertaining... the week and a half before that while in a bar in Manhattan, on the night that the Sox moved into the next round after beating the Angels in extra innings, I heard several patrons say things like "oh man... they just can't beat us... that would be the end."

So yeah, rest your hat on all of those glorious rings... most of which happened at a time when you were not born. That is like me talking about that great NBA dynasty, the Boston Celtics, or the great NHL dynasty up in Montreal. The last I checked, the Yanks are 0 fer the last 6 or 7 years... and we all know that the only measure of yankee success is in World Series victories... not playoff losses to the tigers and angels... or gasp, world series losses to the Marlins... hell, in the last 10 years the Marlins only trail the Yanks by 1 championship! It's almost like the Yankees have turned into the Buffalo Bills... but they haven't made enough World Series lately for that comparison to be accurate... maybe the Houston Oilers?

Perhaps the Sox will poop there pants... but is that any great comfort to fans that don't see a rivalry? I think not. I suppose it is an academic question "would I rather poop my pants in august or October" but really it is all just the same to me.

Have a great time watching that starting rotation... who else they gonna dig up, Whitey Ford?

How about the Donald Trump/Vince McMahon rivalry?
