Did Tiger Phlp Pick The Wrong Ellis?

Only time will tell. As of the time of this post, John Ellis is -4 and Danny "Tour Star" Ellis is at even par. You can track them here, just click on the name to see how each player is doing:

John Ellis versus Danny "Tour Star" Ellis

And yes Jeff, this is an appropriate use of a title posed as a question.

A few random thoughts from the today's round (so far).

1. Stan the Man finally got one of his "limeys" to play in a tourney and play well. He is the only guy with Luke Donald, and could get a windfall of points this week with that pick.

2. Let me go ahead and jinx it right now... How 'bout that DJ Trahan? -4 in his round (so far today).

3. How bad is Alex Cejka? Wow.

4. Jason Gore is off to his typical start... a few under par. The inevitable collapse is as much of a foregone conclusion as his inevitable myocardial infarction.

That's all for now gang...

Yes, tied for 130th place is wonderful golf. Actually, when I made that post, he was 4 over (through 9)... he made a good move in the direction of respectability on the back nine.

What's wrong with Cejka? 1 over for the day and 3 out of 4 cuts made this year. Do you have a problem with Czechs? Maybe you should take a ride down to the Hill country outside San Antonio sometime this spring (New Braunfels?)and sample their fare. You might even have a "brush with fame" and see ButterTits at one of the tables on a Saturday and/or Sunday when the tour hits Texas. Like Steve V. says, "Gore will be fine." Yep, he'll be fine sucking down Pilsner Urquells with mounds of potato pancakes/apple sauce/sour cream stacked in front of him.

Excalibur... I don't think he has much hope of making the cut, but you never know... this is one of those goofy early season tourneys where the cut comes after 54 holes, so your boy has a chance if he can shoot a couple rounds in the mid 60s.

What is the over under on ButterTits score today? I think 71 is the right number, and I will take the over.

We should all acknowledege that at that level of golf, it takes a special talent to go from 2 under to 3 over in 2 holes.

ButterTits shot 73... I knew the over was a lock.

Danny didnt go as far back as his Ellis counterpart, but it looks like they will both miss the cut.
