King's, Bear's, Sawgrass and You?

I must like failure, but here I go trying to really put a plan together for an FPGP 2008 Golf Event(s). Regardless, here we go...

September 12th - 15th
3 Nights, 3 Rounds of Golf
World Golf Village, St. Augustine, FL
Stay at the Grand Villa's at the WGV.
2 Rounds at the King & Bear Course at the WGV & 1 Round at the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course (#17-Par 3 shown above.)

Cost is $739 PP Quad (so we need 4 or 8 to make this a good deal.)

I figure the Florida FPGPers and I could drive so we wouldn't need a rental car.

Any thoughts, comments or suggestions?

Sounds great to me. Plus it will give Da Diddler 9 more months to buy a pair of acceptable-looking golf shoes or to win a pair in a raffle.

Just to make the price clear, it says it doesn't include any tax, or surcharges for anything. We can hammer that out more (hopefully for less) once we get the number. But how great would it be to have the FPGP at the TPC Sawgrass.

Yes, I have a thought... "Jeff's wife must have gotten a raise this year."

She's not paying for me to do crack with a bunch of guys in Florida. There will be crack?

I'm in. I'll also try to get da Rodent to purchase a pair of respectable golf shoes before tee time.

Excellent, we are up to 4 if New Tex's comments meant he was in. Excal, Tev, and maybe a few newbies and we could be looking at 8.

I'm in - and i will have new shoes by then, and hopefully new clubs, more flexible back, and a modified swing...

i have stayed at the WGV and it is nice, and evenings eating and drinking in st. augustine would be great.

buzz, da diddler,

Buzz, Rodent promises a new swing before the inaugural FPGP event. This ain't like Tiger tweaking his arc --- get ya bets in early!

I heard the rumor that Robbo's change is that he will be using a baseball bat off the tee instead of his (wooden) 3 wood.

Excal is......IN!
Justice!!!

Well, excal's inclusion in this fiasco definitely makes it more appealing to me... as I see it, you can't have an FPGP outing with out Da Former Commish.

I bought the Tiger Woods game for the Wii yesterday, and my wife had to suffer through me playing for a while. The course was Sawgrass, and I told her "this is where Jeff wants to gather the boys this fall..." Her response?

"Exactly how much money does his wife make?"

Nice.

I'm probably in...

I'll get more specifics come March, that way everyone's schedule might be established. I think this does have legs though.
