Real Update Coming Next Week

I just noticed that Jeff put up an unofficial leaderboard...

Anyway, I was planning to pop one up in a couple weeks, but that won't happen. That Sunday night is the Super Bowl, and I have to go out of town to pick a jury the next day. So, I am going to post an update next week, rather than wait another three weeks. It should get the bullshit started. And, I need to make sure the spreadsheet is making the calculations correctly, so as always, I'd ask that you take a look at the "data" and make sure your team is being tabulated correctly. We were pretty good last year at not making mistakes and people not freaking out when some minor errors were made.

On a different topic...

Has anyone watched the Golf Channel coverage? I spoke with Jeff about it... he likes it, I think it sucks. That putting tracker thing makes me dizzy. I can't believe they are using gimmicks like that.

TGC's putting tracker and Win % thing sucks. I'm a Faldo fan, so I like him in the booth. Having watch much of the PGA coverage on Thursday's and Friday's on the USA Network, I find The Golf Channel coverage much better. The on-course announcers have to get better, but I like that they show more golf coverage than USA Network. I also like that I don't have to go searching for the golf on tv every week for the early rounds and that the PGA event gets replayed. I think TGC is trying to make the PGA events out like the European PGA events on TV. While European coverage is good, the announcers suck. All in all, it's the trend in televised sporting events. The Golf Channel is going to become the equivalent to the NFL Network or NBA Channel. Now if they would only get a pay per view package that gives you 18 channels so you can watch the play on every hole when you want to watch it.

I need to get my wife a better job so I can stay home and offer this kind of insight on the Golf Channel!!!

It was reallllllly that hard finding the coverage on THURSDAY afternoon? That must have been terrible.

Ha!

It wasn't hard to find, just a chore I didn't care in doing for some events. One week USA carried it, then another it would be TNT (I have no idea what Directv channel that is), then another week it would be ESPN....I highly recommend being married to a "bread winner".

My daily routine: Get up and get the kids ready and drive them to school. Go to the gym or golf course. Clean up the house or tool around with my stocks. Pick up kids from school. Clean house a bit and play with kids. Make dinner and have a few cocktails. Best parts of all this is the golf time I get and making what I want for dinner. Weekends I get to sleep in and the wife gets up with the kids.

I wouldn't brag on that lifestyle dude... eventually, the kids will be old enough to be in school all day and that educated wife of yours might think "jeff needs to get off his ass."

And with all that time to work on your game, you'd think you'd be better... :-)

I watched some of that shit this weekend an I felt like I was watching Tiger Woods '07 on the playstation. I hate tricking sporting event coverage like that. The only one I truly like is the first down line in football. That's it. Remember when FOX used to put that "halo" around the baseball for each pitch so the dipshit baseball fan who doesn't even know which team he's watching can get an idea where the ball is? They did the same thing with hockey for the puck, with the blue streaks and red streaks thrown in for good measure. Fuck, TV is annoying. I don't want a fuking dancing robot, none of this QB quadrant overlays to tell me where he's thowing the ball, quit making the fucking video game sound when you pop the score up... just show the fucking game with the fucking score and cut the bullshit.

Maybe I should have a drink.

Marrying a bread-winner kicks ass. I make one helluva wife. I even put out when I am supposed to, however rare that actually seems to be.

I made that same connection to the Fox slap shot.

Football coverage is awful... I would be willing to ante into a fund to get a pro to take out Joe Buck.

I'm in... wierd thing is, as much as I hate anything and everything Cowboys, I actually like Aikman the announcer. He tends to call like it like it is without being an overbearing douchebag like Siragusa. I appreciate that.

Welcome back Vic. Hopefully you'll do better in your 2nd year, like 4th place!

I was starting to get worried about Vic... glad to see we can count on his comedic genius once again...

Hey stevie v... did you get my email re: that golf tourney in NOLA?

Back to Shades' grueling life.
Take out "the kids," reverse the order of 'make dinner and have a few cocktails' and add betting daily on college and pro hoops and you would have my proposed "job description" to a woman I dated in the late 90s. As you know, I am still slugging away in an office. She just didn't share my investment vision.

Talonflier - Nobody ever got fired choosing Clorox. I'd go with that.
