Horrible Golfer Receives Sponsor’s Exemption Because She’s Michelle Wie
FARMINGTON, PA--A horrible golfer, who was completely unqualified to play in a men’s PGA tour event, received a sponsor’s exemption anyway just because she’s Michelle Wie. Wie finished in last place at the 84 Lumber Classic after shooting a second-round 81. “Wow, she is really a bad golfer,” said Joseph Hardy, owner of 84 Lumber, the event’s sponsor. “She could not get out of her own way. Still I have no regrets about giving her the exemption. Just because she’s a girl and this is the men’s tour, and she’s horrible and most of these guys are good, doesn’t mean she’s not qualified to play. Anybody is qualified to play if they bring attention to the tournament. I would have invited Saddam Hussein if he was available. Not to compare Michelle with Saddam Hussein of course. He probably has a better chip shot at this point.”
