WE'VE MOVED...

THE NEW HOME OF THE FPGP BLOG CAN BE FOUND AT:

Everyone will win a major.

Is it me or does every journalist that writes about the top 30 PGA tour players think that each on will win a major this year. And those in the top 10 may win two.

Some PGA Tour Tidbits

Other than the move of the FPGP site to another blog site (wordpress), here are a few things I found that might be of interest to some.

Based on the calendar, next season will start one week later — Jan. 8 — at Kapalua for the winners-only Mercedes-Benz Championship.

The Texas swing: Valero Texas Open in San Antonio is moved from the Fall Series to May 14-17. It will be followed by the HP Byron Nelson Championship outside Dallas and the Crown Plaza Invitational at Colonial in neighboring Fort Worth.

FINAL UPDATE - BANDIT WINS IN A LANDSLIDE

Pardon my French, but UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE.

Jeff will make it all pretty... your top 3:

1. Bandit with 497 points, wins $1,116
2. Tev with 433 points, wins $478
3. Tex with 383 points, wins $100

This frigging pool has turned into Bandit's own personal annuity!

Bandit!

Unbelievable.

I haven't added it all up yet, but it's pretty clear that Bandit overtook Tev on the heels of the DL3 win.

I'll have the final numbers tomorrow.

Next year, Bandit has to pay $300 to play.

Doctor, I think I have mathais gronberg.

I won't tell you where it hurts as he has not finished the tournament yet, but just when I thought I was making ground again... So I have to pull for Chris "get me another drink" Stroud while Mathais Gronberg shows up to play the best he's played all year. And if I needed another reason to hate the guy, check out his lid.

Is it that hard to hit a lay up shot?

It's the shortest par 4 on the course. You are a Professional Golfer, but you are 171 on the money list. I hope you never wonder why you are 171 on the money list unless it is to wonder that in a good way. You can't hit a 200 yard lay up shot? Good night Irene. Why does this happen to my FPGP picks?

Beer makes golf fun?

Take a par three, mix in a bunch of fans, add beer and [Jason Gore and Chris Stroud], voila, you get instant excitement ... maybe.

Whenever a player makes a birdie on the 174-yard par-three 16th hole at Grayhawk, beer will be sold at half price for 15 minutes at a beer truck parked near the hole, the Arizona Republic reported. A sky box and grandstands have been set up at the hole to accommodate the crowd. MORE

An Open Letter To Chris Stroud

Dear Chris,

Win first, party later.

UPDATE 10/13/08

Shades' roller coaster ride continues... while he had a great performance by Chris Stroud this week, he also had a great performance from his short pick, Mark Wilson. The net effect: there is a remarkably small gap separating 3rd and 4th place. Tev continues to hold a dominating lead... I think the only way anyone catches him is if Calcavechia actually plays and finishes a tourney in the top 5. We'll see.

Down Goes Excal!

Well, it wasn't a pretty performance, but Team Tex with only one player making the cut at the PGA takes down Team Excal. Final numbers:

Michelson (Tex): $231,250

Furyk (Excal): $47,550
Kim (Excal): $15,750
Weir (Excal): $24,500

That's $150 to Team Tex for the season! Thanks for playing Excal!
