Oh how will you ever survive, sidled up to the bar at a wedding? Sometimes a weekend off is good for the game. I'm not saying whose game, just 'the game' in general.
I know... it is terrible... free beer, old friends, etc. And, my last couple rounds have been 72-73, and as JG can attest, that is way good for ME. Hahaha... I'm half tempted to try to sneak a wedge onto the plane tomorrow morning so I can goof around during the reception... it's nice to actually want to play this stupid game.
Speaking of odd and stupid happenings associated with this game, I felt kinda bad (and wanted to get away) yesterday when Stevo caused a stir at a local course...we had a 10 am tee time, and it was getting backed up, so on the first hole stevo was beginning his usual pre-shot routine, visualizing his upcoming shot, when a piercing voice came over the clubhouse loudspeaker, "Would the gentleman on the woman's tee back up to the men's tee please!"
It seemd like a lot of eyes were looking at Steve. He was still deep in his routine, seemingly impervious to the interruption. Again the announcement, "Would the man on the woman's tee kindly back up to the men's tee." He again ignored the guy and kept concentrating...then the starter yelled, "Would the man on the woman's tee back up to the men's tee!" This really flipped Stevo off. He finally stopped, turned, cupped his hands and shouted back "Would the asshole with the microphone kindly keep quiet and let me play my second shot!"
I was chuckling all along, but we were rolling after that!
I just got back from a wedding in Pittsburg. Nice place, but wouldn't want to live there. I'm starting to feel the urge to play again and might try to hit some golf balls this week. NT, remember my wife's 21st birthday? She had a smiliar night to that one at after the wedding. She was in good company though. I think 2 or 3 of the other women at the reception drank the same way too.
Buzz, classic story!! Hopefully, for everyone's sake, Steve was PAST the ladies tee's and didn't have to do the walk of shame!!! I can sympathize. Since I first started playing, the first tee has always been a nightmare for me!!!
